Jerome Beasley
Notes: Two-time Division II Player of the Year
The Skinny:

Beasley is this year’s top draft prospect who isn’t a Division I or
international player. The Player of the Year in Division II at North Dakota,
Beasley put up some insane numbers against clearly lesser competition. But he
has held his own against more prominent players at the two pre-draft camps, and
was named MVP of the Portsmouth Invitational. Beasley is scorer and he can do
it inside or out. He runs the floor extremely well and has the ability to
create off the dribble. His forte is the mid-range shot. He is, however,
extremely finesse and will never be a serious threat on the boards or as a
shot-blocker despite his height.

Because of his camp performances, Beasley has a shot at being a late first
round pick. There has been talk that the Dallas Mavericks may snatch him up
with the last pick of the first round. He’ll be grabbed quickly early in the
second if he falls that low.
