Maurice Williams
Notes: Third Team All-SEC, 2001-02 SEC Freshman of the Year
The Skinny:

Williams entered his sophomore year looking ready to break out as one of the nation’s best point guards, but it never quite happened. He was the SEC Freshman of the Year, then wanted to be more of a scorer. The result was that he was turnover-prone and streaky shooting the ball at best. Williams has good quickness and is generally very capable of running a team, but he tended to look for his own offense a little too much, though at times he had to try to score since his perimeter teammates struggled mightily shooting the ball. Williams did not shoot well from the field and especially long range. He’s a good free throw shooter and won’t hurt a team with his defense.

Williams is a borderline first round pick who is more likely to go in the second round.
