The Skinny:

Kapono was always a very good shooter, but never lived up to his billing as a McDonald’s All-American in high school. He was basically a good player and not much more, as he was never really a star and had a tendency to disappear. He has a very good stroke and will make most shots when left open, and he can handle and pass the ball, but his big weakness is that he does not move well without the ball and stands around at times. He plays good on-the-ball defense, but whether or not he is athletic enough to guard NBA small forwards is an open question.

Kapono is a likely second round pick. If he gets better at moving without the ball, his good stroke may get him into the NBA for some time, as a team could always use someone who can shoot the ball as well as he does and especially given his 6’8″ frame.
