The Skinny:

Slay is a well-built forward who plays the game with a lot of intensity and confidence. As a senior, he answered any questions lingering from a torn ACL he suffered the previous season, as he led the SEC in scoring.

Slay knows how to score, doing so in a variety of ways including long range jumpers, but he seems to be between positions. He can rebound at both ends, but he doesn’t always seem interested in playing defense and isn’t a big presence on the glass. While he can score the ball, he doesn’t seem athletic enough to play small forward in the NBA.

Slay is likely a second round pick at best. The jury is out on which position he plays since he is not a true combo forward.
