Morning Dish

The Morning Dish – Friday, June 27th

The Draft: The big news last night was the 2003 NBA Draft. As expected, LeBron James was the first overall pick. Hoopville has complete coverage, with Phil Kasiecki live at the Draft in New York, and Jed Tai providing instant analysis as the picks came in. And Zach Van Hart reviews the 4-1/2 hour telecast.

Lavin on the Tube: Former UCLA head coach Steve Lavin has accepted a position as a college basketball analyst for ESPN for the upcoming season. With the move, this eliminates the possibility of Lavin returning to Purdue as an assistant. Lavin will work games on both television and radio, as well as some studio work.

Monday, Monday: Miami has announced that they will consider the various offers made to them from both the Big East and the ACC prior to making an announcement on Monday. It’s rumored that the Big East has offered Miami $9 million per year for five years as an incentive to stay in the conference.
