The Morning Dish – Saturday, October 4th

Gator Transfer: Florida sophomore center Mario Boggan has announced that he is transferring from Florida. Boggan, a 6-6, 290 forward/center that averaged 2.3 points and 2 rebounds in 16 games last season, stated that he wanted to transfer to get more playing time. NC State, Missouri, Clemson and Virginia Tech are leading candidates for Boggan.

Simmons Ineligible: Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar has announced that junior college transfer Tre Simmons will not be enrolling at Washington, and thus won’t be playing for the Huskies. As we mentioned yesterday, Simmons had difficulty completing coursework for his two-year degree, and school admissions announced that he failed to meet academic requirements. Simmons, who had two 50 point games for Green River Community College and averaged 29.8 points per game, was expected to be a large contributor to the Huskies offense this season.
