Mid-Continent Conference Semifinals Preview

Preview by Matthew Moll

(1) Valparaiso vs (5) UMKC
Team There-Is-No-I-In-Team Valpo will look to stop Team Host School and Michael Watson for the first time this season.

Watson lit the fire at yesterday’s press conference saying, “I think that when we played them (Valpo) before, they disrespected the guys. When we feel disrespected, we have to use it as motivation and not let it affect us.”

Watson will need to back his talk with another high scoring performance. Dan Oppland could abuse the lack of a Kangaroo’s inside presence.

(2) IUPUI vs (6) Chicago State
The tourney defending champs will need to stop the cloud floating Chicago State.

The two teams split their regular season match-ups.

The key today will be the play of freshman swatter Ankindele on Akeem Clark and the driving ability of Odell Bradley.

Rubeen Perry and Craig Franklin will have to provide more offense against the potent scoring Jags.

This game will reunite former assistant and Coach of the Year Kevin Jones and IUPUI’s Ron Hunter. Jones coached under Hunter for seven seasons.
