Big South to Expand: The Big South Conference announced today that Presbyterian College has accepted an invitation to join as the conference’s tenth member institution. The expansion will be effective the 2007-08 school year, which is when PC will move to Division I. The Blue Hose – no, seriously – finishing the D-II football season ranked tenth, and the hoops program finished with a 25-10 mark and a second round NCAA Tournament appearance this past season. PC will play a conference schedule beginning with the 2008-09 season, but will not count in the standings nor be eligible for postseason play until receiving active Division I status, which is expected for the fall of 2011.
