Indiana: Sampson Collecting Experienced Hoosier Assistants

Sampson Collecting Experienced Hoosier Assistants: New Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson hired two members of his new staff last week. He brought Ray McCallum with him from Oklahoma and added Jeff Meyer, who was an assistant coach at Missouri. McCallum and Meyer give Sampson deeper roots to the state of Indiana because both assistants went to school and have worked in the state. They also have head coaching experience — McCallum coached his alma mater, Ball State, for seven seasons, and Meyer was Liberty’s coach for 16 seasons. [4/17/06]
