San Antonio: Thompson Rides Into San Antonio [4/19/06]

Thompson Rides Into San Antonio: Although the city is best known for its defending NBA world champions, San Antonio will become the next home of Arizona State assistant coach Brooks Thompson — a former NBA player himself — who has come to town in search of basketball success outside the Spurs. Texas – San Antonio has hired Thompson to replace Tim Carter, whom the school reassigned in March. Thompson worked for Rob Evans and the Sun Devils for two seasons after leading Yavapai College to a 55-14 record in two seasons. Thompson played at Texas A&M and Oklahoma State before the Orlando Magic drafted him in the first round of the 1994 draft. [4/19/06]
