Connecticut: Williams Joins Gay and Boone

Williams Joins Gay and Boone: Wrapping up Connecticut’s off-season defections, junior point guard Marcus Williams announced that he will enter the NBA Draft. With teammates Rudy Gay and Josh Boone already in the draft, Williams joins the list of Huskies leaving school early in search of fame and fortune at the professional level. Willams has not signed with an agent yet, his father said, which means he could return to school if he does not like his draft outlook. But because Williams averaged 12.6 points and 8.6 assists per game this past season, he figures to be one of the more highly rated point guards in the draft. [4/23/06]
