Waves Bring Asbury Out of Retirement: Pepperdine is going back to the future. The Waves have hired Tom Asbury to replace Vance Walberg as the team’s head coach. Asbury led Pepperdine to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a 125-59 record during his 1988-1994 tenure. He plans to hire Marty Wilson to also return to the Malibu sidelines and become his eventual successor. Wilson is a former Wave player and assistant coach. Asbury was most recently an assistant coach at Alabama before retiring at the end of last season. [2/16/08]
