Oregon State: Beavers’ Coach to Hand Down Punishment

Beavers’ Coach to Hand Down Punishment: Oregon State coach Kevin Mouton has gone from dismissing an after-practice confrontation last week between his players and Washington’s to pledging punishment for the Beavers that were involved, according to a Seattle Post-Intelligencer report. Beaver freshman Sean Carter will be one of the sanctioned players. He reportedly challenged Washington guard Venov Overton to fighting after the practice. Also, Oregon State forward Marcel Jones has been said to have sent a threatening cell phone message to a Washington player. Washington beat the Beavers 97-59 Saturday. It was Oregon State’s 15th straight loss. [2/22/08]
