Three Connecticut players missed the Huskies’ exhibition win against American International because of a snafu in their eligibility paperwork, according to an Associated Press report.
Jerome Dyson, Donnell Beverly and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel missed Connecticut’s easy 106-67 win. However, the Huskies will need Dyson when the season starts next week. The university said the NCAA needs to review educational documents for Dyson and Beverly, and the players could be ruled eligible by the end of this week.
For Coombs-McDaniel, the NCAA wants to check out his academic records before clearing him to play.
