Virginia has suspended center Assane Sene for the first three games of the season for conduct detrimental to the team, according to the Associated Press.
Sene is a 7-footer who emerged as a defensive stalwart last season and figures to anchor the defense of new Cavaliers coach Tony Bennett.
Virginia plays Longwood, South Florida and Rider in the team’s first three games.
