Seton Hall junior guard Keon Lawrence has been suspended indefinitely after he caused a crash on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey at 3 a.m. Monday morning and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Associated Press and Jersey Journal reports.
Lawrence had cuts on his face from the crash, and the other driver emerged without serious injuries. Coach Bobby Gonzalez said he is relieved that no one was more seriously hurt. However, he decided to suspend Lawrence while waiting for more details about the incident.
Lawrence is a transfer from Missouri, where he averaged 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a sophomore in 2007-08. He figured to play a prominent role for the Pirates this season.
