Rutgers will play without sophomore forward Gregory Echenique for about a month while he recovers from eye surgery, according to Mike DeCourcy of the Sporting News.
Echenique is probably Rutgers’ most dynamic player, averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is also a defensive force.
The surgery corrected a pre-existing condition.
