Talking Hoops with Ted Sarandis – July 8, 2016

Welcome to Talking Hoops with Ted Sarandis. In this edition, we largely look back on the NBA Draft, while also looking at some other off-season developments in college basketball.

First, the NBA Draft takes center stage. We start with an overview and class breakdown of the first round, then look at notable players who were not drafted. Included are the likes of NC State guard Cat Barber and Kansas guard Wayne Selden, though they are far from alone.

Next, we look at how seniors fared in what was a big year for them, drawing in part from a recent article. As noted elsewhere, this past season in college and the NBA Draft were different experiences for seniors.

We then circle back to college basketball, focusing on new developments at Syracuse and St. John’s. In particular, one head coach may now stick around a little longer than expected, and it makes sense from a couple of standpoints. Another coach has moved on, which surprised some people. We also touch briefly on recruiting, as July is a very important month for that.
