College Basketball Tonight – April 7, 2019

Welcome to the Final Four edition of College Basketball Tonight. We’re down to two teams, both of who make their mark at the defensive end, and we bring on a couple of guests to talk about how we got here.

We begin with Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal, who also contributes to Basketball Times. Kevin has seen a lot of basketball, and he offers his thoughts on the national semifinals including the controversy at the end of Virginia’s win over Auburn. We go over a few aspects of the big call along the way, as well as some bigger picture items with the championship matchup, as well as some considerations in the coaching carousel.

After that, new Fairfield head coach Jay Young joins us for a conversation about his new opportunity. Along the way, we get into some of his big influences, as well as his first impressions on current personnel and the potential in the program, as well as the MAAC, a conference he has familiarity with having coached against many of those schools in non-conference play. We also get some insights from him on the national semifinals and Monday night’s national championship matchup.

We hope you enjoy the show and share it with your fellow college basketball fans. We hope you’ll tune in for our regular podcasts soon and during the off-season, and then come back for College Basketball Tonight again during next year’s NCAA Tournament.
