Now Love Is in the Draft: UCLA freshman center Kevin Love will enter the NBA Draft after all. The Los Angeles Times initially reported that Love would enter the draft, but coach Ben Howland and Love denied the report. However, Love reached the decision Thursday to declare for the draft. He averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in leading the Bruins to the Final Four. Most draft prognosticators figure Love will go in the top 10.

Jayhawks Look to Cash in on Title: Fresh off a national championship, a pair of Jayhawks will enter the NBA Draft. Junior guard Brandon Rush is done in Lawrence and will hire an agent while sophomore forward Darrell Arthur will enter the draft without an agent, at least until he hears a projection that convinces him to remain in the draft. Rush tested the NBA Draft process last season but tore his ACL in a pickup game and had to return to school. Players can only declare for the draft and return to school once. Rush led the Jayhawks with 13.3 points per game. Arthur was one of Kansas’ leading scorers at 12.8 points per game. [4/21/08]

Cowboys Select Ford: Oklahoma State has hired Massachusetts’ Travis Ford to become the Cowboys’ next coach. Ford comes to Stillwater after leading the Minutemen to the NIT championship game this past season. He compiled a 62-35 record in three seasons with Massachusetts and had the Minutemen competing among the Atlantic 10′s elite. The Cowboys hope Ford can do the same in the Big 12 with Oklahoma State. Although it wasn’t quite as bad as last season, this was hardly one for the books for Wake Forest. After an 82-60 blowout loss against Maryland on Thursday, the Demon Deacons finished 13-18 overall. That doesn’t seem so bad, and a few teams had worse records, but look deeper and you see a team that, quite simply, was not good.
