St. John’s and St. Bonaventure. What a night it was Wednesday for a pair of Catholic schools in New York on the college basketball scene. Also, if anyone has been lulled into thinking there are three teams this season far and away above everyone else? Wednesday night provided the reality check.
Funny things happen in college basketball in late January and early February, and Saturday was a perfect example of as much, as the day was marked by upsets and near-upsets, and we’re talking real upsets.
We hear plenty about star players, but what about the good players that are hidden away on bad teams or overshadowed by others on good teams? We look at several of them here.
A MAAC rivalry continues, with the first place team holding serve in a close one. Plus some drama in the Ivy League, a showdown in the Horizon League and a couple of players have family members dealing with health matters.
