On the second Saturday in December, the stars were out across the country in college basketball. A day that was anticipated for its matchups ended up being a showcase for some herculean individual efforts. Several players delivered huge, memorable performances that reminded us once again that the sport will never lack for talent to step up, no matter how many players leave early for the pros.
Where has the 2015-16 season gone? The presence of a leap year day yesterday did nothing to convince us that the past four months have absolutely flown by. If anything, it only enhanced that feeling, as conference postseason honors started trickling in at the same time that we started checking out the brackets for the first conference tournaments that kick in starting…today?
With the college football season finale taking place on approximately 17 different networks Monday night, most leagues chose to sit out the evening. For those looking for some college hoops, though, it offered the opportunity to sneak a glance at a pair of programs that have hidden gem written all over them, and have for some time.
Lehigh has been streaky this season, not entirely surprising given their relative inexperience. Now they have hit a rough patch, with issues at both ends of the floor highlighted by one at the defensive end.
