There were a few games of interest on Friday night, especially one that opened a new arena and for a while looked like history might repeat itself before a dramatic ending. Plus early conference games, a rivalry renewed in Rhode Island goes to the home team, and the Spartans take another hit on the perimeter.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge is in the books, with the Big Ten winning and two ACC teams having scoring challenges. Plus a reversal of result in one rivalry, a big win for a team that’s had a tough few days, and one more team remains undefeated.
In our latest podcast, we look at a big game in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge as it continues on, then look back at a couple of big tournaments and who won them. Also, we look at some big news out of Georgetown that isn’t so good, and look ahead to conference games coming up.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge had a couple of its headline games on tap, and both were convincing wins for the ACC school though the series is all tied up. That, and a few other notes from Tuesday night.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge gets going with two Big Ten home games that were a bit different. Additionally, it wasn’t a good day for the Hoyas, while the Hurricanes lost another player to injury, and a few other notable results on a light day of game action.
It’s early yet, but if you were expecting a big change from the longer three-point shot, you are surely disappointed by the early results that include a few of Thursday night’s games. Plus a Husky is suspended and a long-time coach sounds off about opening night for his team and conference.
The ACC openers are in the books, with the defending champs looking just fine and a freshman breaking a record. Plus one conference has started out well, and there’s also some coaching news.
Opening night was as good as advertised, led by the big doubleheader in New York where the nightcap belonged to one freshman in particular. Plus a few road wins lead some close ones, a couple of mild surprises, and some major league blowouts with non-Division I schools.
The season is finally here, and with it is our podcast looking ahead to the season and talking about one final off-court matter, for now at least. Plus a bad break in Florida, a suspension continues, and great news out of Texas.
As the season gets closer, some burning questions come to mind, and we take a look at them as well as what to expect in a few more conferences this season.
