In an ultracompetitive league where four teams finished tied for fourth place, third through eighth were separated by three games and no less than six teams had winning streaks of at least five games in conference play, it’s the team that went 0-9 on the road in conference play and finished ninth overall that is the tournament champion.
The Patriot League remains in a good place, as it had a highly-competitive race as expected and should see more of the same next season as well.
Calm in the face of daunting situations. Both Robert Morris and Dayton had it Wednesday night, and as a result, both are moving on in the NCAA Tournament.

This introduction was going to be about one of the most anticipated games of the year so far, as Duke and Wisconsin squared off in a battle between top 5 teams, Final Four contenders and legendary coaches. That changed after midnight here in the Central time zone after watching Wichita State face Utah in what was maybe the second-most anticipated game of at least the night, anyway.
Holy Cross has been incrementally improving, and the players have believed in what the staff is trying to do all along. Now they have a signature win to believe in it even more.
There’s a lot of talk about Kentucky after they trailed at halftime, plus a tripleheader in Boston and some news with Florida ahead of some good matchups to start the week
Milan Brown has brought Holy Cross back to the point of contention in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are now a veteran team and thus far are looking like one as well.
The Patriot League’s first season with ten programs was a highly successful one, but there is plenty of reason to believe there are even better days right around the corner.
