Arizona State and St. John’s hardly put on a basketball clinic Wednesday night, but the Sun Devils advanced and now try to be the next team to make an NCAA Tournament run from the First Four. Plus, NIT, CIT and CBI recaps, including Brown continuing a historic season.
Kansas’s Big 12 streak is still alive, though its other-worldly performance on Mondays meant we should’ve expected as much. Iowa State, Florida State & Lipscomb also win and Northern Colorado makes the Big Sky race more interesting.
Coming off a 14-point home loss to Georgia Tech, Syracuse was apparently right where it wanted to be heading into Duke, where-sure enough-the Orange stunned the top-ranked team. Plus, Pittsburgh growing up fast, Nebraska wins on the road and buzzer-beaters in the MEAC.
Short bench, poor shooting, young, Syracuse still found a way to come back late to defeat Arizona State in an NCAA Tournament play-in game, another example of a good coaching job by Jim Boeheim this year.
