Like most of the year anyway but especially now at the end of December, this is a time when football traditionally takes center stage in the Southeastern Conference. Thursday also marked the open of the conference season for SEC basketball as well, though, and an entertaining night it was.
The Big Sky was once again competitive, though a couple of familiar faces led the way in 2015-16. Could that change next year, in addition to the conference having more non-conference success?
The second day of the college basketball season was generally a quiet one. Before getting to Saturday’s games, though, a quick look back at a one that went very late and under the radar from Friday:
The teams that have led the way in the Big Sky of late were right there again this season. One of them won both the regular season and conference tournament, and also had a nice time with the post-season awards as well.
Coach Tyler Geving should continue to steer the Vikings north in the Big Sky standings in 2011-12 with an experienced roster at the helm.
