Another Thompson Son Joins the Coaching Ranks: Usually, coaching family trees refer to a famed head coach’s assistants landing jobs at other schools. But former Georgetown coach John Thompson is literally spreading his roots throughout the college game. Arkansas assistant coach Ronny Thompson is the new coach of the Ball State Cardinals. He joins his brother, Georgetown’s John Thompson III, among the head coaching ranks. Ronny moves to the Cardinals after working under Stan Heath for three seasons. [4/05/06]
