Bryant Matthews

Team: Virginia Tech
Position: Forward
Year: Senior
Size: 6’7″, 200

Stats (per game): 22.1 points / 8.9 rebounds / 2.5 steals

Notes: Honorable Mention All-America. Named First Team All-Big East Conference. Named Virginia State Player of the Year. Led the Big East Conference in scoring, was second in steals and third in rebounding.

The Skinny:
He was a combo forward in college, but he figures to be a small forward at the next level since he tends to play more away from the basket. He rebounds well for that position and had a big senior year scoring the ball, but he’s not a great athlete and not a great shooter, so he’ll be tested in workouts to see how well he scores the ball. His long range jumper must be respected and he can create some off the dribble, though that’s not his forte.
