Rashad Wright

Rashad Wright

Team: Georgia
Position: Senior
Year: Guard
Size: 6’2″, 190

Stats (per game): 14.4 points / 2.9 rebounds / 3.0 assists

The Skinny:
Established himself as one of the nation’s premiere defensive players and was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, leading the conference with 2.6 steals per game. Possesses long wingspan and excellent court vision. A great passer, finished as Georgia’s all-time leader in assists. He was asked to score more as a senior and nearly doubled his point production, but his assist totals suffered as a result. A pure point guard, his biggest asset is creating open looks for his teammates, as he boasted a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior. His ability to score when necessary, and a much-improved three-point shot, are encouraging. Drives the lane extremely well but his poor outside shot allows defenders to lag off and defend against quick moves to the basket. Also gets to the free throw line often, but hit only 68 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe. Wright is firmly on the bubble and could wind up fighting for a roster spot on a summer league roster.
