Hopkins Pays for NBA Consideration: SMU senior guard Bryan Hopkins will not play until December after flirting with the NBA this past spring. Hopkins is academically ineligible, and he attributes his struggles to the distraction of preparing for a run at the NBA Draft. He decided to return to school to try to improve his statistics after leading the Mustangs with 17.9 points per game last season. SMU plans to move Hopkins from point guard to shooting guard this season.
