San Francisco: Evans to Remain Top Don at San Francisco

Evans to Remain Top Don at San Francisco: San Francisco rewarded coach Jessie Evans with a long-term contract extension after Evans led the Dons to a strong season last year. In his first year at San Francisco, Evans guided the Dons to a 17-14 record, which included a trip to the NIT and wins against St. Joseph’s, Pacific and Gonzaga, among others. The school did not immediately release the terms of the extension. Evans came to San Francisco after leading Louisiana – Lafayette to mid-major prominence in the Sun Belt Conference. He was an assistant coach to Lute Olson at Arizona and helped lead the Wildcats to the 1997 national championship.
