Tar Heels Bank on Wachovia: The University of North Carolina and Charlotte-based banking giant Wachovia have agreed to an eight-year partnership in which the bank will post signs in stadiums and arenas in exchange for funding for Tar Heel athletics. Wachovia will have three displays in the Dean E. Smith Center, including one on the courtside LED board. The Tar Heels will receive money from the bank to help renovate facilities and offer more services, such as academic counseling, career development and community outreach programs.
