Dukes Can’t Step Out of A-10 Cellar: Duquesne lost at home to La Salle last night, falling to 3-16 overall and 1-7 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The loss is partially attributable to a fall earlier in the day by senior forward Keith Gayden. Gayden fell while running up some stairs at the school’s student center, and he dislocated his wrist. Although doctors cleared him to play, he clearly was ineffective, scoring only four points in nine minutes. Gayden averages 8.3 points and five rebounds per game. [2/02/06]
