And Then There Were Seven: Niagara entered this season with one of the slimmest rosters in Division I with only nine players. After losing two players who decided to transfer and two who took redshirts for this season, the team was down to eight. Now the Purple Eagles have only seven players to suit up because sophomore guard Charron Fisher will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Fisher’s loss is especially alarming because he leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 18.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. The short lineup has admirably fought to a 7-12 record so far, but the future doesn’t look good with such little depth. [2/01/06]
