Garner Dismissed by Southeast Missouri State: Southeast Missouri State officials opted not to retain coach Gary Garner following a 7-20 season. Garner’s five-year contract with the university expired, and school officials chose not to extend it. In nine years at Southeast Missouri State, Garner compiled a 126-132 record and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2000. This season was not as successful, however, as the Redhawks finished 4-16 in the Ohio Valley Conference and did not qualify for the conference tournament, which only includes the top eight teams.
