Colonial Athletic Association: Colonial Athletic Association Championship

Championship Week 2006
Colonial Athletic Association Championship: No. 1 UNC-Wilmington held off a furious rally by No. 3 Hofstra to win their fourth CAA title in seven years with a 78-67 win over the Pride. At one point, the Seahawks (25-7) looked to have the game well in hand as they built a 53-30 lead early in the second half with a run of nine unanswered points. But the Pride (24-6) came right back, going on a 29-9 run to get within three. They would get no closer, as T.J. Carter took over down the stretch by scoring 12 straight Seahawk points in the final three minutes to lift the Seahawks to the win. Carter led four Seahawks in double figures with 23 points and 13 rebounds and was named the MVP. Loren Stokes led Hofstra with a game-high 26 points. [3/06/06]
