Atlantic 10 Tournament: No. 5 Saint Joseph’s is in the championship game for the second year in a row after a 73-59 win over No. 9 Temple. It’s the eighth straight win for the Hawks (18-12), who broke the game open in the first half by scoring 11 straight points. Temple (17-14) was rarely within single digits the rest of the way, getting no closer than nine. Chet Stachitas and Abdulai Jalloh each had 18 points to lead the Hawks, with Jalloh adding eight rebounds. Temple was led by 25 points from Mardy Collins.

Saint Joseph’s will play No. 10 Xavier in the final after the Musketeers scored a 70-59 win over No. 6 Fordham. The Musketeers (20-10) never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 13 late in the game, holding the Rams to 28 percent from the field in the second half and just over 35 percent for the game. Josh Duncan led Xavier with a career-high 20 points and seven rebounds. Fordham (16-16) was led by Bryant Dunston’s 16 points and nine rebounds. [3/10/06]
