SEC: Southeast Conference Championship

Championship Week 2006

Southeast Conference Championship: No. 2E Florida narrowly edged No. 5E South Carolina 49-47 to claim a second straight Southeast Conference championship. Sophomore swingman Corey Brewer led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds. The Gamecocks had a chance to win or tie in the last few seconds. They couldn’t hit a three-pointer in the final five seconds, and the Gators’ Joakim Noah swatted the put-back attempt. Taurean Green was named the tournament’s most valuable player. [3/12/06]
