Minneapolis Region – Play-in Game: No. 16 Monmouth opened NCAA Tournament action with a 71-49 win against No. 16 Hampton in the play-in game. Powered by a flurry of three-pointers, the Hawks dominated the Pirates to earn a trip to Philadelphia to play Villanova in the first round. Chris Kenny scored 20 points, including a career-high six three-pointers. The Hawks picked up the first NCAA Tournament win for the Northeast Conference in 23 years. [3/15/06]
