Oakland Region – Second Round: No. 13 Bradley became the second Missouri Valley team to advance to the Sweet 16, using a 26-for-32 effort from the foul line and 28 points and seven rebounds from Patrick O’Bryant to score a 72-66 win against No. 5 Pittsburgh. The Braves (22-10) trailed only briefly in the early moments of the second half as O’Bryant won the battle of 7-footers against Aaron Gray, who had 12 points and just four rebounds. Marcellus Sommerville added 18 points. Pittsburgh (25-8) missed just one free throw, but got to the line only 11 times. Levance Fields led Pittsburgh with 18 points and six rebounds.



The Braves will next take on No. 1 Memphis, as Antonio Anderson led four players in double figures with 13 points as the Tigers led for most of the game in their 72-56 win over No. 9 Bucknell. In establishing a school record for wins, the Tigers (32-3) shot nearly 48 percent from the field and held the Bison (27-5) below 37 percent and forced 19 turnovers. Joey Dorsey added 12 points and Rodney Carney and Shawne Williams each had 10 for Memphis. Chris McNaughton led Bucknell with 15 points and eight rebounds. [3/19/06]
