Mississippi: Rebels Bring Home Kennedy

Rebels Bring Home Kennedy: Mississippi officials hired Cincinnati interim coach Andy Kennedy to his first permanent job shortly after the Bearcats lost to South Carolina in the NIT Thursday. Kennedy led Cincinnati to a 21-13 record this season. He stepped up after Cincinnati forced out his former boss, Bob Huggins. Kennedy grew up in Mississippi and had openly said he wanted to return home. He now has an opportunity to rebuild a languishing program. The Rebels finished 14-16 and missed the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. [3/28/06]
