Lowe Might Answer Pack’s Prayers: The never-ending North Carolina State coaching search may be over. The Raleigh News & Observer reports that Detroit Pistons assistant coach Sidney Lowe, a former Wolfpack player, will accept the head coaching job. But even this choice comes with strings attached. Lowe is in the midst of helping the Pistons advance in the NBA Playoffs and could potentially be unavailable until late June. He also does not have a four-year college degree, which is a requirement for the job. Lowe should receive that sometime soon from St. Paul’s College. Lowe has no experience in collegiate coaching, but he has been an NBA head coach and assistant for years. [5/05/06]
