USC: Trojan Point Guard Killed

Trojan Point Guard Killed: USC freshman point guard Ryan Francis died early Saturday morning when someone opened fire on the car in which he was traveling in Louisiana. Francis was shot five times while sitting in the back seat. The driver had stopped at a red light when another driver pulled up, got out of the car and started shooting. Police later arrested D’Anthony Norman Ford and charged him with first-degree murder. In one season with the Trojans, Francis averaged 7.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. [5/15/06]
