Northeastern: James Follows Everhart to Pittsburgh

James Follows Everhart to Pittsburgh: Northeastern sophomore forward Shawn James will leave the Huskies to transfer to Duquesne. He rejoins former Northeastern coach Ron Everhart, who left the school after the season to accept the Dukes’ coaching job. James gives the Dukes a dominant low-post presence because James led Division I in blocked shots last season. His defensive prowess can force opponents to change their entire game plans. He averaged 12.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.5 blocks per game this past season, and he figures to improve offensively in his two remaining years of eligibility. [5/16/06]
