Iowa State Transfer to Join Tigers: Shawn Taggart, formerly of Iowa State, will transfer to Memphis, coach John Calipari announced. Taggart will sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules but can practice with the team. He will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2007-08 season. Taggart, a 6-10 forward, played in all of the Cyclones’ 30 games this past season, and he was a starter in the final 14. He averaged 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season, while shooting 45 percent from the field. Out of high school, Taggart was rated No. 3 among centers and No. 35 in the country by Rivals.com. He was also among the nation’s best according to HoopScoop, The Sporting News, Basketball Times and Lindy’s.
