Betts Leaves Bulldogs for Oklahoma: Effective May 25, South Carolina State coach Ben Betts will leave the Bulldogs to become an assistant coach under new Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel. Betts has been South Carolina State’s coach for the past three seasons, leading the team to a 51-39 record. The Bulldogs finished 14-16 this past season. Under Betts, South Carolina State has been a perennial contender in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. [5/22/06]
