Rockets Reward Joplin With Extension: Toledo has extended the contract of coach Stan Joplin by three years. Joplin has led the Rockets for the past 10 years, and his contract expired after this past season, in which the team finished 20-11 and reached the Mid-American Conference championship game. In 10 seasons under Joplin, Toledo has finished with a winning record eight times, but the team has not reached the NCAA Tournament. The three-year extension reflects a job well-done but with a likely mandate to lead the team into the tournament before the extension expires. [5/22/06]
