UMBC: Monroe Adds Three Retrievers to Roster

Monroe Adds Three Retrievers to Roster: Coach Randy Monroe will welcome three transfers to Maryland – Baltimore County this fall. Darryl Proctor, formerly of Coppin State, Ray Barbosa and Cavell Johnson, both formerly of James Madison, will sit out the 2006-07 season before playing for the Retrievers the following season.

Proctor, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, averaged 13.5 points per game last season en route to second-team MEAC honors. Barbosa has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining. Last season, he averaged 9.8 points per game, down from 14.9 the previous season largely because of his change in playing time. Johnson will also have one year to play at UMBC. He was leading the Dukes with 13.4 points per game before being suspended for the remainder of the season.
