Banged Up Buckeye to Miss Season’s Start: Celebrated Ohio State recruit Greg Oden will not get his first chance to dazzle Buckeye fans until December, possibly near the end of the non-conference schedule. Oden is recovering from an invasive wrist surgery that requires a lengthy rehabilitation period. Ohio State figures to be one of the most talented squads in the nation with a solid returning core accompanied by one of the the top three recruiting classes. But without Oden, Ohio State will be less fearsome. Oden’s absence might be most noticeable against North Carolina when the Buckeyes travel to Chapel Hill in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Two of next season’s elite teams will go head to head without one of the most noteworthy players.
