Davis Is Done at ‘Bama: Alabama forward Chuck Davis did not receive a medical redshirt for last season, meaning that he is no longer eligible to play for the Crimson Tide. In his senior season, Davis tore his ACL in the 13th game of the season, the SEC-opener vs. Mississippi. Coach Mark Gottfried had hoped that the NCAA would grant Davis a fifth year of eligibility, but the organization decided that Davis had played in too many games last season to consider it a completely lost year. Davis averaged 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game before his injury last season. [7/19/06]
